About Echo Contemporary Dance Company
Echo Contemporary Dance Company, founded in 2010, is a fusion of classical, post, and contemporary modern dance. Existing within and outside of established traditions, Echo strives to create a kinetic balance between convention and experimental.

Bridget Morris | Artistic Director
Bridget received her training in the Charles Weidman technique under former Weidman dancer, Mary Ann Mee, at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. She performed as a principal dancer for Ms. Mee until her retirement in 2007, receiving the Patrice Bearnside award from Dance Central (CPCC), for her contributions as a dancer in the company. In 1998, she graduated from Ohio State University with a B.F.A. in dance. In 2004, she was published on the cover of “Seeing While Being Seen”, a collection of dance photography by Steve Clarke. She has been a company member of Moving Poets Theater of Dance, Alban Elved Dance Co., Project Incite, and Sidelong Dance Co. She has performed in original works by choreographer, Sarah Emery, artistic director of Watershed Dance Theater and choreographer Kim Jones, a former Graham company member and professor of dance at UNCC. Bridget performed for Kim Jones in her recreation of Panorama by Martha Graham and TEDxCharlotte, 2013. Bridget founded Echo Contemporary Dance Company in 2010. Her choreography has been accepted into the North Carolina Dance Festival, the Charlotte Dance Festival, the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, the Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival and the Austin Dance Festival.
